~HELPFUL HINTS~

PLEASE NOTE: This is not professional advice, it is purely from my own experiences and what I have heard other people who have a lot of experience in dying and bleaching their hair say.

Shampoo the hair with a pH acid balanced shampoo before dying

Before dying, ensure your hair is as dry as possible

Comb Directions into the hair until it emulsifies, i.e becomes frothy, the pigments will have penetrated in to the hair, lighter shades may require a little more combing.

Processing time is between 15 and 30 minutes, a plastic cap will contain the heat on the hair helping to achieve a better result.

Rinse the hair thoroughly away from the face with warm water until all the residue dye has been removed.

All directions colours can be mixed with each other so to create your own unique shade.

Directions will take faster and last longer on chemically treated hair e.g permed or bleached.

La Riché products are not tested on animals.

FAQ

1. What brand are the dyes?
La Riche Directions - they are a UK brand

2. How long will the colours last?
This depends on many different things but most people can get at least a month out of these colours.

If you wash your hair with shampoo/conditioner that is SILICONE FREE then your colour will last longer than if you use ones like Pantene.

If you let the colour sit on your hair for a good 30-40 minutes before rinsing, it will last longer than if you let it sit for just 15 in most cases.

If you apply heat to your hair whilst the colour is setting, then it should also last longer.

3. If I bleach/lighten my hair, will it fall out/die?

This can happen but it generally only happens to hair that has been bleached many times over and over. If you use hair treatments/hair moisturisers and/or shampoo/conditioner that is specifically for dry/damaged hair, then your hair can stay healthy and strong for a very long time and you can dye your hair as much as you want.

Moroccan oil and argon oil are both known for helping damaged hair too!

Do not use volume 40 bleach, especially if your hair has been bleached before. This bleach is very damaging to hair. Use volume 30 and I don't recommend leaving bleach on for more than 15 minutes at a time. It's better to use a lower volume bleach and have to do it 2-4 times rather than using a higher volume once or twice.

There are the RARE occasions where someone will have a bad reaction to bleaching their hair, so always do a small section first just to see how your skin and hair react.

4. Are these colours easy to apply yourself?
YES! The consistency is similar to that of conditioner so it spreads through easily enough. You can easily coat all of your hair in the dye by massaging it in though a tint brush is recommended for the roots.
